I hate to say it, but Detention is going on an indefinite hiatus. It’s been almost a year, and I experimented with a lot of different things, but in the end this current story just isn’t working with the page-by-page publishing format.

I know exactly where I want this tale to go, but I’m finding it almost impossible to keep each page as its own interesting separate thing, and to be honest the story-within-the-story of this chapter is really just an entirely separate idea that I’ve had for a while, that I only tangentially connected to Detention after the fact, and I really dislike where that has taken me.

So that’s it for us for a while. If Detention does come back, it will be a complete reboot on a different site and almost definitely in a different format. But don’t hold your breath.

In the meantime, I AM going to finish this current story about Claire and Ned, but I’m going to do it as a more traditional novela-type-thing, and I’m going to do it at my own pace.
I have made a new tumblr for my writing; I’m still going to be working on new non-novel pieces that you’ll be able to read probably about as often as I used to publish Detention.

I know I didn’t have a lot of readers, but those of you who did read it were very faithful and put up with a lot of experimentation, and I can’t thank you enough for that. It’s been really fun.
